Mediation Paper Project
As of now, I plan to mediate between soul mates and arranged marriages. I believe both have their positives and their negatives, but there is a common ground between the two. I think that there is a such thing as a soul mate, that one true love that many people spend their wholes lives looking for. However, arranged marriages prevent that search and the let down of break-ups.

My Favorite Song- LAB
My favorite song changes weekly (if not daily), but I believe my all-time favorite song is "My Best Friend" by Tim McGraw. Not only do I love Tim, but this song is so sweet and romantic. It talks about his lover also being his best friend. I can relate to the lyrics because I fell in love with my best friend. He is always there for me and we would do anything in the world for each other. Our relationship is amazing because I can talk to him about anything and everything and he really is my best friend.
Tim McGraw says "I never had no one that I could count on, I'd been let down so many times. I was tired of hurting, so tired of seaching, until you walked into my life. It was a feeling I'd never known, but for the first time I didn't feel alone. You're more than a lover, there could never be another to make me feel the way you do... Life with you makes perfect sense. You're my best friend."
This is exactly how I feel about my boyfriend (soon to be fiance) and he feels the same way about me. This is a very good "love song" that doesn't have a tragic ending. I believe it will always be "our" song and it will be the song we dance to on our wedding day. This gives it much more meaning that just words to a song.

Persepolis
1. I believe she definitely portrays the country as being filled with tragedy. Even if you don't understand the piece or don't know much about the history of it, you can see that.
2. I believe the very plain black and white suggest sadness and pain. It gives you a sense of depression and makes you relate to the girl in the story.
3. The frame I've chosen to analyze is on the 2nd page of boxes where they are rallying for and against the veil. It shows women of all types. The women supporting the veil are in all black like they're gloomy and dark which is how the author seems to feel about it. The women against the veil that are asking for freedom are dressed in all white like they're pure and righteous. The caption says they're in the streets which gives you a better picture of what they are doing. The picture gives a strong sense of personal opinion. It seems very real and it makes me picture women rallying for something that they are passionate about that would give change to their whole entire lives.

I will admit, the majority of political cartoon are over my head. Especially when it involves candidates that I don't know that much about. However, I understood this cartoon and it even made me laugh out loud. To me, this picture says that Nader has all of his supporters right in front of him- the animals. He's got his chipmunks, pigeons, and squirrels backing him up all the way to the big league or the "General Election." It is trying to demonstrate how small of a role he played in this election. The animals are even looking at him like they are bored and he is crazy. I looked at many political cartoons, but I liked this one the best.

Most Memorable Picture-LAB
My most memorable picture isn't an actual hard copy, it is a mental picture. I guess that makes it my most memorable moment. If it were a picture, it would be me standing in a blue gown, white heels, and a blue hat walking across the stage in Littlejohn shaking the hand of Principle Lawson. I finally did it. I graduated high school.
Not that it was a major achievement for me, but the memory of it will last a lifetime. I remember being so excited, yet so worried about tripping in front of hundreds of proud families. Yes, that would be just my luck. However, it wasn't me but better yet one of my best friends. If it wasn't for a very quick biology teacher, she would have been lying face first on Littlejohn's dreadfully hard floor. As if the excitement of graduating high school wasn't enough, this episode only added to the wonderful day. Luckily, the teacher caught her and she didn't make a complete fool of herself. It was still priceless and is still today a great topis for conversation!

Strawberry Fields
I don't exactly understand the film, but I believe the strawberries symbolize all the bad that goes along with the war such as death, blood, bombs, etc. I also sensed that the man is very angry about it. He throws the strawberries and slings red paint everywhere as if it is blood. In addition to symbols, the colors tell a lot about the film. The main colors in the clip are blacks and greys, except for the red strawberries, paint, and blood. This shows that they wanted this to stand out the most.
The song lyrics are also very dark and gloomy. It doesn't really say much, but it is repetitive like the images are. All it shows are the strawberries. They're being stabbed when he hangs them up. They're on fire when they're symbolizing "bombs." The strawberry juice is meant to be blood. This is all very dreary stuff and I believe he is not only angry about the war but he is also sad about it. And I also believe that the woman has something to do with why he is so upset. He doesn't go in his room until she arrives with the other man. I am not sure about what the clip means, but I did gather some conclusions and make a few assumptions as to what it all means.
