I realize it is a few days late, but I completely forgot about the assignment until I was preparing for tomorrow's class. I went to see Step Up 2: The Streets last Thursday with my sister-in-law. We fell in love with the movie! I have danced for a major portion of my life, so dance movies really intrigue me.
This movie isn't only about hip-hop dancing illegally in the streets, it is about standing up for something that you love and showing people that it doesn't matter where you're from. The people, or the "crews" believe that you have to dance with the people that are around where you're from. The leading character, Andie, starts classes at a high-end dance school and creates her own crew. They take it to the streets to compete just to prove that it doesn't matter what you wear, how you dance, or where you're from to be awesome dancers and competitors. It was a great movie and I recommend it to anybody that has an interest in dance.
